Introducing… SHADDUB
This guy is a very interesting young talent. Only 15 years old and he’s already killing it on the Dubstep scene. His track ‘Mr. Morgan’ is being released by 2MuchBass Recordings later this year and people are already going crazy asking for a release date. I figured I better check out what all the hype was about and I must say, I was pretty impressed with his stuff. Anyway, here’s the man himself…
Name, age, location?
Oli Grant, 15, Southampton UK.
How did you get into music production?
‘It all started when I first heard Dubstep, my older sister showed me “Cockney Thug” on Youtube which i then became obsessed with. I decided, because of the need to make Dubstep, to take a music course at school… which i was rejected for, so I went away and taught myself from the ground up using forums and Youtube and basically just carried on from there!’
Which producers influence you?
‘Way too many to mention, but I’d have to say Tek-one, as my stuff’s been compared to their older tracks and probably Bar9 too…’
What inspires you to create music?
‘Having good feedback on a track you poured your heart into is always inspiring and so is listening to other people’s tracks.’
Which of your tracks is your personal favourite and why?
‘I’d have to say ‘Mr. Morgan’ because I haven’t heard another track with a wobble like it! Makes me feel more unique, like DatsiK with his trademark sounds. Also, a DJ on soundcloud messaged me to say he played it out in a club and he said it received a better reaction than Numbernin6′s tracks, which made my day!’
What have you been working on recently?
‘A few original tracks and couple of remixes are in the works, one where I have set the challenge to make the most girly vocals absolutely filthy. And My favorite track ‘Mr.Morgan’ will be released soon on 2MuchBass.’
Any shout outs you want to do?
‘Big shout out to everyone that has followed me on soundcloud, all my fans on facebook and a few people in particular (Thomas Weiss Shema, James Lonergan and Lawrence Bath).’

There you have it. I’m going to put up ‘Mr. Morgan’ first, people are going mad for this track! It’s very original and has an awesome bassline. If a guy can make this at 15 years of age, what’s he going to be creating when he’s 25?!
Next up is a track called ‘Terry Tibbs’, I love this purely for the Phonejacker samples. Funny as fuck…
Now this next tune is totally brutal. It’s called ‘Bitches’ and is probably best described as Gangster-step. Ha ha. The intro is awesome and the rolling sample used after the drop works really well. Everyone is loving this on Soundcloud…
Lastly we have his latest track ‘Filthy Bit’. This is probably my favourite tune by Shaddub, it’s getting loads of positive feedback from fans already. The filthy bass and the higher-pitched melody work well together to create a really unique track…
